    Youth volunteers deserve praise

I enjoyed reading about the community service efforts of the children and young adults in our community [Sun, April 12]. I have seen direct evidence of this in the girls who are members of Sunnyvale Girl Scouts.

Most recently the girls made and donated over 30 blankets and quilts to Project Linus, for distribution to kids in crisis at the Emergency Housing Consortium. Let's each of us encourage the younger members of our community to adopt service to others as a lifetime commitment. We all will come out ahead.
