    Soccer tournament

    A five-a-side men's open soccer tournament will be held on April 22 at De Anza Community College. There are no goalkeepers in five-a-side soccer, and the registration fee is $100 per team. For more information, call 408.864.8745.

    Baseball tryouts

    Tryouts for Colt (ages 15-16) and Palomino (17-18) League baseball teams will be held April 29 at Ortega Park in Sunnyvale. Colt tryouts will begin at 9 a.m. with Palomino tryouts to begin at 1 p.m. For more information, call 408.245.PONY.

    Sunnyvale AYSO

    The Sunnyvale AYSO soccer program will hold signups for players ages 4 1/2-18 (by July 31, 2000) for the fall season.

    Signups are slated for April 29, noon-5 p.m., at the Ortega Park Building; May 10, 7-9 p.m., at the Lakewood Park Building; May 20, noon-5 p.m., at the Town Center Courtyard; and June 10, 12:30-5 p.m., at the Ponderosa Park Building.

    Players must provide proof of age, a passport-sized photograph, their height and weight, name of insurance company, name and phone number of family doctor, and name and phone number of an emergency contact person.

    The fee is $50 per child for the first three players from a family. For more information, check the AYSO Website at www.ayso44.org or call 408.739.AYSO.
