    City offers child care workshop

The city is offering a free workshop on April 28 for people who provide child care in their homes and are exempt from California state licensing requirements because they care for their own children and/or children from just one other family.

Jim Hopper, ombudsman for community care licensing for the state of California, will focus on the benefits of becoming a licensed child-care provider. Participants will also learn about local resources that help providers earn more money and find support. The workshop will be held from 7 to 8 p.m., at Columbia Middle School, Room 13, at 739 Morse Ave. in Sunnyvale. Call 730-7608.
