North County Colt
The North County Pony Baseball League will hold tryouts in its Colt division (ages 15-16) on April 25, 9 a.m., at Ortega Park. The cost is $100 per player. For more information, call Art Downs at 739-7281.
Coaches needed
Fremont is looking for a number of coaches for the 1998-99 school year. The Firebirds need coaches for girls' field hockey, girls' volleyball and water polo. Anyone qualified and interested should apply at the Fremont Union High School District, 589 W. Fremont Ave., Sunnyvale, and call Pat Lawson or Phil Kelly at 522-2431.
Sunnyvale AYSO
The Sunnyvale AYSO will hold soccer signups for the fall season for boys and girls ages 4 1/2-18 (born after July 31, 1980, and before Jan. 31, 1994).
Signups will be held May 2, noon-5 p.m., at the Ortega Park Recreation Building; May 13, 7-9 p.m., at the Lakewood Park Recreation Building; May 30, noon-5 p.m., at the Town Center Courtyard; and June 13, noon-5 p.m., at the Ponderosa Park Recreation Building.
Players must provide the following at registration: names of family doctor, health insurance company and emergency contact person; a passport-sized photo for player pass; and proof of age (for players who did not play last season).
The league is also looking for volunteers to serve as coaches and referees.

Youth football signups
The Cupertino-Sunnyvale Pop Warner football organization will hold signups for players ages 7-15 on May 16, 9 a.m.-noon, at Fair Oaks Park in Sunnyvale. For more information, call 737-9654.
De Anza Stealth
The De Anza Stealth, a boys' under-17 Class I soccer team, will hold tryouts on April 26, 4 p.m., at Saratoga High School. The team is also looking for a paid trainer. Interested and qualified trainers should fax a resume to 252-3501. For more information, call John Worden at 252-4310.
World title fight
IBF Featherweight World Champion Hector Lizarraga of San Jose will take on challenger Manuel Medina in the first ever world championship fight to be contested at the San Jose Arena.
The Garden City Boxing Club card, set for April 24, will include three championship fights and will also feature WBU Junior Featherweight Champion Carlos Navarro.
