Council votes to buy a new bookmobile
The City Council has approved the purchase of a new bookmobile to bring books to residents who can't always make it to the library.
It will replace an 11-year-old bookmobile that leaks during the rainy season and has had maintenance problems in recent years.
The 35-foot-long Navistar International vehicle, purchased for $143,561, will be delivered to Sunnyvale in nine to 12 months, said city librarian Susan Denniston. The vehicle will be assembled by Moroney Bookmobiles, located in Worcester, Mass.
