Sunnyvale soccer
The Sunnyvale Soccer AYSO will hold signups for the fall season on May 3 (noon-5 p.m. at Ortega Park), May 14 (7-9 p.m. at Lakewood Park), May 31 (noon-5 p.m. at Town Center Courtyard) and June 14 (noon-5 p.m. at Ponderosa Park).
Players must be 5 by Dec. 31, 1997, and no older than 18 as of Aug. 1, 1997, to be eligible. Players who did not play AYSO soccer last season must provide proof of age.
Players must provide the names and phone numbers of their family doctor and emergency contact person; the name of their health insurance company, and a passport-size photograph of the player.
The league is also looking for volunteer referees for the fall season (students over the age of 12, or adults).

Youth football
The Sunnyvale-Cupertino Pop Warner football program will hold signups for players and cheerleaders on May 17, June 21 and July 12, 9 a.m.-noon each day, at Fair Oaks Park in Sunnyvale. For more information, call 737-9654.
Boys' volleyball
Fremont upped its record to 3-1 in the Mt. Hamilton Division of the Blossom Valley Athletic League with a solid 15-5, 15-6, 15-9 win over Oak Grove last week. The Firebirds are 14-5 for the year.
In other local action, the King's Academy dropped a three-game decision to Woodside Priory in the Private Schools League. Woodside beat King's 17-15, 15-13, 15-5 to improve to 7-2 in league play. The Knights slipped to 1-7 in the league.
