The outside wall of Jatinder Bhangu's store pulls vandals like a magnet. Graffiti has remained a constant blight during the five years Bhangu has run the store. But on this clear, sunny April 18, Bhangu is handing the wall over to painters of a different ilk, hoping their work will improve the store's look. Seventeen Columbia Middle School students work under the direction of members of City Year, a community service organization. They crowd the wall with brushes and paint. People stand shoulder to shoulder as they turn the cement into a fancy remembrance of Sunnyvale's past.
