Schott speaks at Bellarmine
Steve Schott, co-owner of the Oakland A's, will return to his alma mater on May 8 as the guest of honor at a luncheon at Bellarmine Prep.
Schott is a 1956 graduate of Bellarmine, where he played varsity baseball for three seasons. He won all-city and all-Catholic honors as a pitcher in his junior and senior years.
Tickets for the lunch are priced at $15. Tours of the Bellarmine campus begin at 11:15 a.m., followed by a social period at 11:30 a.m. The program will conclude by 1:30 p.m.

Sunnyvale soccer
The Sunnyvale Soccer AYSO will hold signups for the fall season on May 3 (noon-5 p.m. at Ortega Park), May 14 (7-9 p.m. at Lakewood Park), May 31 (noon-5 p.m. at Town Center Courtyard) and June 14 (noon-5 p.m. at Ponderosa Park).
Players must be 5 by Dec. 31, 1997, and no older than 18 as of Aug. 1, 1997. Players who did not play AYSO soccer last season must provide proof of age.
Players must provide names and phone numbers of family doctor and emergency contact person; name of health insurance company; and a passport-size photograph of the player.

Dons take two
Jeff Martin and Jeremy Cunningham came through with solid back-to-back pitching performances to lead the De Anza Community College baseball team to a pair of victories in Coast Conference play last week.
De Anza opened the week losing a 9-2 nod to Cañada, but came back a few days later with a 10-5 victory over Skyline.
