    Cherry Orchard Center grand opening April 25

    Cherry Orchard, a dining and retail center at the intersection of West El Camino Real and Sunnyvale-Saratoga Road/Mathilda Avenue, will hold a grand opening event on April 25 from 4 to 7 p.m. Merchants from the entire center--including P. F. Chang's China Bistro, Pasta Pomodoro, A. G. Ferrari Foods, Starbucks, C .J. Olson Cherries and Chipotle Gourmet Burritos and Tacosæwill offer some free samples of some of their most popular foods and products. In addition, there will be live music, including roving guitarists and jazz combos around the center.

    All who attend the grand opening will also be eligible to enter drawings for prizes donated by the merchants. Drawings will be held at 6:45 p.m. on the evening of the event and winners must be present to win.

    The event is free of charge and open to the public.


    Wine, cheese and chocolate tasting at silent auction

    The Kiwanis Club of Sunnyvale Foundation is hosting its third annual major fundraising event on April 27, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., at the Four Points Sheraton Hotel in Sunnyvale. The event will feature wine tasting provided by prominent local wineries, a variety of cheeses and chocolates. Tickets are $25 per person in advance and $30 at the door.
