    Public Safety

    The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Public Safety Department.

    Battery--May 2, 3:19 p.m., 800 block of San Mateo Court. Public Safety officers responded to a report of a family disturbance. When they arrived on the scene, the mother said she had locked her daughter out of the house because her daughter had hit her in the face. Her left eye was black, and the officers arrested the daughter.

    Car Theft--Between April 20 and 30, 200 block of East Iowa Avenue. While the victim was on vacation, unknown suspect(s) entered her car through the convertible top and stole a CD player from the dash. The victim's car was unlocked during the time she was away.

    Possession of Heroin--April 30, 7:43 p.m., 900 block of East El Camino Real Avenue. During a probation search of a suspect, an officer was stabbed by a hypodermic needle hidden in the suspect's bra. During a search of her vehicle, a black tar substance was located that tested as heroin, along with a billy club.

    Possession of Meth--May 2, 4:45 p.m., 1700 block of Noranda Drive. A victim who lost his wallet and believed his roommate had stolen it gave Public Safety officers permission to search the suspect's bedroom. During the search, they found plastic baggies and a white powdery substance which tested as methamphetamine.
