    Obituary

    Edward P. Rogers

    Edward P. Rogers of Sunnyvale died on May 1; he was 89.

    Rogers retired in 1977 from Lockheed Missiles and Space as an educational trainer. He also taught industrial engineering at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. Rogers worked with Our Daily Bread, an outreach program at St. Thomas Episcopal Church for the past 17 years as the head waiter, serving the homeless and hungry. He was recognized as the Distinguished Senior Citizen of Sunnyvale in 1989 for his community work.

    He is survived by his wife, Helen, of Sunnyvale, two stepchildren, Marcia McDermott and Allan Jones, three grandchildren, Michael and James McDermott, Barry Jones, and five great-grandchildren.

    A memorial service was held May 11 at 2 p.m., at St. Thomas Episcopal Church. Donations are suggested instead of flowers, to Our Daily Bread, the Pathways Hospice, 201 San Antonio Circle, Suite 135, Mountain View, 94040, or to any charity of choice.
