Mustangs win

Jeremy Britt (13) helped the Homestead boys' volleyball team knock off San Benito 15-11, 15-9, 15-4 and Gilroy 9-15, 15-11, 15-0, 15-8 to advance to the CCS semifinals this week against Bellarmine. The Mustangs (28-7) take on the Bells (23-0) on May 19, 6 p.m., at Santa Clara with the winner advancing to the title match May 21, 7 p.m., at Santa Clara. Fremont (22-9) opened with a 15-11, 15-7, 15-12 win over Redwood Christian, but lost to Monterey 15-8, 15-9, 7-15, 16-14 to fall out of the playoffs.
