    San Jose State baseball camps

    San José State University (SJSU) baseball coach Sam Piraro will head up the annual SJSU summer baseball camps for players ages 6-17 again this summer.

    Sessions include comprehensive camps July 8-12 and July 22-26, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. each day, for players ages 6-16. The cost is $110 per player, and camps are limited to the first 75 players.

    Specialty camps are slated for July 29-Aug. 2 (pitching camp for ages 12-17, 10 a.m.-noon, and hitting camp for ages 9-17, 1-3 p.m.). The cost is $125 per player (both sessions $200), and camps are limited to the first 25 campers.

    All campers receive a free T-shirt, and there will be camper evaluations and special awards.

    Field hockey camp

    Del Mar will host a beginning field hockey camp for girls in the sixth through ninth grades June 25-27, 9 a.m. to noon each day. The cost is $40 per player and includes a camp T-shirt.     Hockey Jamboree

    Applications are now being accepted for teams interested in playing in the 23rd annual Willow Glen Field Hockey Jamboree Sept. 6-7. Each participating team is guaranteed a minimum of five games.
