Cops investigate armed robbery
The Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety is investigating an armed robbery at a convenience store by two males wearing white T-shirts wrapped around their faces.
According to the department, officers responded to a report of armed robbery at the Gala Mart convenience store at the corner of El Camino Real and South Bernardo Avenue at 10:05 p.m. May 14.
The store clerk, who was alone at the Gala Mart restocking the cooler, reported that two males entered the store and robbed him at gunpoint, Public Safety Capt. Steve Pigott said.
The suspects told the man not to move and to put his head down, Pigott said. The suspects then escorted the clerk to the register and told him to open it.
After taking $225 from the register and the clerk's wallet, the suspects fled on foot.
Officers were unable to locate the suspects during a search of the area.
