Public Safety
The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Public Safety Department.
Lewd Act with a Child--May 22, 6:45 p.m., 800 block of Lakebird Drive. Public Safety Officers arrested a 59-year-old male for performing a lewd act with a child.
Embezzlement--Between April 21 and May 8, 200 block of South Mathilda Avenue at Wells Fargo Bank. An employee confiscated from customers three checks made out to "cash." Instead of depositing the checks into the customers' accounts, the suspect deposited them into his own, causing a total of $1,900 in damages.
Reckless Driving--May 19, between 8:20 p.m. and 8:31 p.m., at the intersection of SR 237 and Fair Oaks Avenue. An officer observed a suspect driving a motorcycle recklessly. The driver was traveling at 95 miles per hour in a 65 mile per hour zone. He made abrupt lane changes and followed vehicles too closely.
Auto Burglary--Between May 17 at 7:10 p.m. and May 18 at 6:30 a.m., 600 block of Reseda Drive. The victim's brother parked and locked the victim's car on the street, in front of her apartment. In the morning, the victim discovered an unknown suspect(s) used a pry tool to force the driver's side door open. The suspect(s) removed the stereo and punched the trunk lock open to remove the speaker and amplifiers.
