Sunnyvale AYSO

The Sunnyvale AYSO will hold signups for the fall soccer season for boys and girls ages 4 1/2-18 (born after July 31, 1980, and before Jan. 31, 1994).

Signups will be held May 30, noon-5 p.m., at the Town Center Courtyard; and June 13, noon-5 p.m., at the Ponderosa Park Recreation Building.

To register, players must provide the following: names of family doctor, health insurance company and emergency contact person; a passport-sized photo for player pass; and proof of age (for players who did not play last season).

The league is also looking for adults to volunteer as coaches and referees. Free classes are provided.

Hoop-It-Up returns

The Hoop-It-Up World Tour, the official three-on-three street basketball tour of the NBA and NBC Sports, makes its historic 10th annual return to downtown San Jose, June 6-7.

More than 7,600 street basketball players and more than 38,000 spectators will participate in the San Jose event, one of 44 stops on the U.S. Tour.

Tournament divisions range from relaxed play in the Couch Potato division to the Top Gun division for the best competitors. Participants ages 8 and over are placed in divisions according to age, gender, height and skill level.
