Good sports all around at summer camp
For kids who love sports there is a local summer camp that can't be beat.
It is De Anza College's All Sports Camp, held on the campus for kids ages 7 to 13.
There are three camp sessions, June 23-July 4 (yes, there is camp on the Fourth of July), July 7-18, and July 21-Aug. 1. The cost of each two-week session is $280. The camp runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. For working parents, Extended Camp is available from 3:15 to 5:30 p.m. at a cost of $85.
The sports taught at the camp include swimming (every day), aerobics, tube water polo, basketball, pickle ball, soccer, tumbling, indoor floor hockey, flag football, self-defense, track and field, volleyball, softball and wrestling.
The camp is led by two directors, and sports are taught by qualified coaches in each of the areas.
Food is included in the cost of the camp; kids get a hot lunch every day, and a midmorning energy drink.
