Public safety raises funds with Spoons
Sunnyvale public safety officers and Spoons restaurant are joining together to help raise funds for Special Olympics. Police officers in uniform and Special Olympics athletes will be serving dinner to patrons of Spoons, located at 725 S. Fair Oaks Ave., on May 30 from 5 to 9 p.m. Any amount over the regular waitstaff tip will be collected and donated to the Special Olympics. The public is invited to support the cause by showing up for dinner at Spoons restaurant on May 30. For more information, call Officer Ralph Chavez at 408.730.7140.
Law enforcement torch run for Special Olympics
Members of the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety will receive the ceremonial Special Olympics torch, headed for the Northern California games in Stockton, on May 31 at approximately 2:40 p.m. at the intersection of El Camino Real and Halford Avenue. The Sunnyvale officers will then hand it over to representatives of the Mountain View Police Department at the intersection of El Camino Real and Bernardo Avenue.

Olson Cherries set to open new stand
The public is invited to visit C.J. Olson's newly built cherry stand at its former location, at the intersection
of El Camino Real and Mathilda Avenue, and join in the festivities on June 8 and 9.

Art and wine on June 1, 2
The Sunnyvale Chamber of Commerce will host the 28th Art & Wine Festival on June 1 and 2 in downtown Sunnyvale. The event will feature more than 500 artists, a large food court with varied food selections, live and continuous music, a special children's area, wine from world-renowned wineries from the Napa and Sonoma regions and beer from local microbreweries.
