    'Monster Home'

Large remodeled house creates conflict between neighbors

After doing research on building codes, Nina Huang and her family bought a run-down home in south Sunnyvale, got the city's permission to raze the home and began to build a 3,665 square foot, two-story home on the property. Neighbors have submitted a petition to the City Council, asking the council to stop the construction of the still uncompleted home. Neighbors' complaints span from concerns about privacy to anger about the alleged incongruity of the architecture, indignation about the lack of neighborhood notification and with the intrusiveness of the construction, to disgust at the loss of a part of city heritage.   More
