    Public Safety

    The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Public Safety Department.

    Possession of Cocaine--May 22, 9:43 p.m., 300 block Greenlake Dr. An officer responded to a report of an illegal drug transaction. A search of the room revealed cocaine in plain view. A glass pipe and a bag of marijuana were found.

    Vandalism--May 22, 11:37 a.m., 100 Bradford Dr. A witness saw someone writing a gang insignia on a curb. The suspect got into his truck and drove away. The witness reported the license number to police.

    Grand Theft--May 22, 10:03 a.m., 1100 block W. Olive Ave. An unknown suspect removed the rims and tires from the victim's vehicle. The car was placed on four plastic milk crates. The rims and tires were valued at $1000.

    Negligent Discharge of Firearms--May 21, 10:22 p.m., 1000 block Ayala Dr. The suspect fired a .357 caliber bullet through the bathroom and into the living room. There were no injuries. The firearm and nine armor-piercing bullets were found in the suspect's boots.

    Domestic Violence--May 21, 10:52 a.m., 300 block N. Fair Oaks Ave. The suspect stated he tried to stop the victim from slipping by grabbing her arm, causing redness in the form of finger marks.

    Defrauding Innkeepers--May 21, 3:37 a.m., 800 block Awahnee Ave. Two suspects ordered and ate $19.01 worth of food at Denny's restaurant. The two suspects left without paying.

    Cultivation--May 20, 11:05 a.m., 1000 block Carson Dr. The suspects were found on the roof of Vargas Elementary School smoking marijuana. One of the suspects was found in possession of a baggy of methamphetamine, marijuana, and rolling papers. In the area, there was a water bottle and a flower pot containing wet dirt and a number of apparent marijuana seeds.

    Robbery--May 19, 12:07 a.m., 100 block S. Murphy Ave. The victim and suspect were playing pool in a sports bar in downtown. The suspect won and demanded money. The suspect pushed the victim and took his jacket. A second suspect took the jacket and searched it. The victim gave them $5.

    Grand Theft--May 14, 5:45 p.m., 1000 block E. Arques Ave. The suspect entered an electronics store and selected an item off the shelf. He then opened the sealed box, removed the contents, and hid them inside his vest. He exited the store without paying.

    Spousal Battery--May 14, 11:50 a.m., 900 block W. Weddell Dr. A couple became involved in an argument while staying at a hotel. The suspect said she started the physical confrontation by pushing the victim, then during a struggle she bit his arm and scratched his face. The suspect tried to defend himself with his elbows, causing light redness to her right eye.
