AYSO soccer signups
The Sunnyvale AYSO soccer league will hold signups for the fall season on June 8, noon-4 p.m., at the Serra Park rec building, Hollenbeck and The Dalles. The league is open to boys and girls ages 4 1/2-18, and players with disabilities are welcome.
Parents of new players must provide a birth certificate, and the registration fee is $35. For more information, call 739-2976.
Alliance soccer
Sunnyvale Alliance will hold tryouts for its under-16, under-18 and under-19 boys' select teams at Cupertino Junior High School.
Under-16 tryouts will be held Wednesdays and Fridays, 6-8 p.m., and under-18 and under-19 tryouts are set for Fridays, 5:30-7:30 p.m., and Saturdays, 3-5 p.m.

Mustangs have top GPAs
Three Homestead sports teams finished among the leaders in the Central Coast Section spring scholastic championships.
The Mustangs recorded a cumulative grade-point average of 3.2450 to finish fourth in boys' track and field behind Aptos (3.3243), Saratoga and Gunn.
Homestead was also fifth in girls' water polo (3.3956) and sixth in boys' swimming (3.2913).
"The student-athletes involved have achieved distinction in the classroom, and at the same time, have committed themselves to participation in interscholastic athletics," Steve Stearns of the CCS says.
Long drive championship
The Pin High Golf Center in San Jose will host the Re/Max North American Long Drive contest on June 8, 10 a.m. Contestants will compete for the right to advance to the district semifinals. For more information, call 934-1111.
Colt League signups
The North County Colt League is currently holding baseball signups for the 1996 season. The league is open to players ages 15-16. For more information, call Jerry Feldman at 248-7738.
Youth football
The Sunnyvale-Cupertino Pop Warner football organization has scheduled signups for the fall season for boys and girls interested in becoming players and cheerleaders.
Signups will be held June 8 and July 13, 9 a.m.-noon each day, at Fair Oaks Park in Sunnyvale. For more information, call 737-9654.
