Public Safety
The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Public Safety Department
Drug Possession--May 20, 1:15 a.m., at Fair Oaks Avenue and Caliente Drive. Suspect was contacted as the driver of vehicle that was registered to another person. A search of the vehicle yielded a switchblade knife and three packages of marijuana, which were packaged for sale and not for personal use.
Vandalism--May 21, 7 p.m., 1100 block of Dunford Way. An unknown suspect caused a sign on school doors to be burned. Also found was some burned paper in a nearby trash can. There has been a history of malicious behavior and trespassing at the school.
False Identification--May 20, 7 p.m., 1100 block of Borregas Avenue. While investigating a hit-and-run accident, the suspect falsely identified himself. His true identity was later determined and he was booked into the county jail.
Attempted Murder--May 17, 12 a.m., 900 block of Wolfe Avenue. Suspect smashed through sliding glass doors and started attacking the victim. The victim was chased into the bathroom and during the fight, was struck with a wooden lamp and a piece of broken glass. The suspect was arrested in Daly City and then booked at the county jail.
Auto Burglary--May 19, 10 p.m., 1200 block of Lakechime Drive. Victim's laptop computer, cell phone, car CD player and wallet were stolen out of his car. The suspect is still unknown and at large.
Petty Theft--May 21, 11:45 a.m., 600 block of El Camino Real. Suspect took a camera and cassettes from a local drug store. Personnel arrested the subject outside the store where they recovered the stolen items.
Auto Burglary--May 24, 3 a.m., 1200 block of Vicente Drive. Victim parked and locked his car outside of his home. When he went to enter his car in the morning he found it unlocked and the two front seat headrests to be missing.
Possession of a Controlled Substance--May 26, 2:20 p.m., 1300 block of Mt. View Alviso Road. Suspect was working on his car when investigated by officer. Found in his car was a car stereo face plate, three syringes, a glass pipe, cotton swabs, a razor blade and a Ziplock bag containing an off-white powder that later tested positive for an ampthetamine The suspect also had symptoms of being under the influence of a controlled substance.
Drug Possession--May 26, 3 p.m., 700 block of Lawrence Expressway. Vehicle was stopped with suspect riding in the passenger seat. Found in the suspect's possession was a camera case in which a sandwich bag and a film canister full of green leafy buds were found. Also found was a glass smoking pipe. The substance was tested to be 4.2 grams of marijuana. The subject was sited and released from the scene.
