Proposed teacher tax break not well received

    Bone density testing

    The Foundation for Osteoporosis Research and Education will offer bone density testing at the following Longs Drugs stores in Sunnyvale from 10 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.

    Friday, June 23, 576 E. El Camino Real; Monday, June 26, 1165 W. El Camino Real; and Tuesday, June 27, 1675 Hollenbeck.

    The procedure is a non-invasive scan of the forearm that takes about seven minutes and is painless. No appointment is necessary, but technicians do the testing on a first-come, first-served basis.

    The procedure is $30, with proceeds supporting the testing program. For more information, call 510.832.2663.

    MS Back to the Beach Bike Tour

    Join surfer/actor Robert "Wingnut" Weaver and hundreds of cyclists in the fight against multiple sclerosis at the Rainmaker Systems Back to the Beach Bike Tour on Saturday, June 24 in the Santa Cruz Mountains. This fully supported ride offers 25, 50 and 100-mile routes. Funds raised support the National MS Society and more than 2,900 individuals affected by MS and their families living in our community.
