Another tire slashing in the south side

Someone slashed all four tires on a minivan parked on Nisqually Drive in south Sunnyvale on the night of May 26. Sunnyvale Police Captain Chuck Eaneff said he didn't know if the incident was related to previous slashings in the Homestead Road and Hollenbeck Road area. On the night of May 7, someone slashed 41 tires on 15 cars. On the night of May 2, slashings also occurred. Anyone with information relating to the vandalism should call Sunnyvale police at 408.730.7100.

    Raise in limits for homeowners

For the second time in 10 years, the eligi-

bility limits for the Franchise Tax Board's home owners' and renters' rebate program has been raised. Rebates will also be larger. Rebates are for those 62 and over, or disabled or blind, and who have a total household income of $33,993 or less for 1999.

For help applying for these rebates, volunteers have been trained by the Franchise Tax Board and placed at Senior and Community Centers in San Jose, Campbell, Los Gatos, Santa Clara and Sunnyvale. For further information, call Marilyn at 408.277.4790.
