It's time for fall sports signups

It may be the early days of June, and summer vacation may be just about to begin, but it's already time for young athletes to start thinking about the fall.

Sunnyvale soccer

The Sunnyvale Soccer AYSO will hold signups for the fall season on June 14 noon-5 p.m. at Ponderosa Park.

Players must be 5 by Dec. 31, 1997, and no older than 18 as of Aug. 1, 1997, to be eligible. Players who did not play AYSO soccer last season must provide proof of age.

Players must provide: the names and phone numbers of their family doctor and emergency contact person, the name of their health insurance company and a passport-size photograph.

The league is also looking for volunteer referees for the fall season (students over the age of 12, or adults).

Youth football

The Sunnyvale-Cupertino Pop Warner football program will hold signups for players and cheerleaders on June 21 and July 12, 9 a.m.-noon each day, at Fair Oaks Park in Sunnyvale. For more information, call 737-9654.
