    Moffett Field hosts air show

Moffett Field is hosting its first annual air show this weekend, June 19 and 20. It will feature more than 300 military, antique, experimental aircraft, and demonstrations from military and civilian pilots.

The new show is a result of moving the West Coast Antique Fly-In and Air Show from its previous location in Watsonville to Moffett Field. In addition to flight demonstrations and stunts, the fair will include hundreds of aviation and technology exhibits.

Gates open at 8 a.m., and attendees are encouraged to take public transportation or shuttles since the Moffett exits will be shut. Shuttle buses from designated lots will drop people off at the airfield gates.

General admission, box seating, and club tickets can be purchased by calling Bass Tickets at (650) 478-BASS, (510) 762-BASS, (408) 998-BASS, or at their web site, www.basstickets.com.

All money generated from the show will be donated to the Wings of History Museum and the Moffett Field Historical Society.

    Teen employment program seeks applicants

Next Step, a job readiness program for teenagers from 13-16, is accepting applications for its upcoming summer

course. The program focuses on providing youth with the tools necessary to successfully find and keep jobs.

The six-week course begins on July 5 and places teens in local public and nonprofit agencies as volunteers where they receive 100 hours of training. The city of Sunnyvale, NOVA Private Industry Council and the Northwest YMCA developed the program collaboratively.

For more information, contact the Next Step office in the NOVA Youth Employment Office in the Town Center Mall, or call (408) 522-9847.
