Julie Flores receives first Ewert scholarship
In memory of Fremont High School graduates Tom and Marcia Ewert, killed in a plane crash last May, the Fremont Union High Schools Foundation established a memorial scholarship.
The first Ewert Scholarship for $500 was awarded to Julie Flores of Fremont High School at Senior Awards Night June 2. Flores, whose essay was chosen unanimously, was especially touched by the award as she was the photographer for Fremont High School's student newspaper and during the year had many contacts with Tom Ewert as he helped her with her photography questions.
