    Public Safety

    The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Public Safety Department.

    Assault with a Deadly Weapon--June 8, 2:12 a.m., 160 block of W. Persian Dr. The suspect punched the victim in the head after an argument. The victim fell to the ground and the suspect continued to punch and kick the victim. The victim suffered a concussion, facial fracture, tooth fracture and a cut lip. He was treated at San Jose Medical Center. The case remains open.

    Petty Theft--June 7, 4:04 p.m., 400 N. Wolfe Rd. Someone stole a brief case containing company checks, an American Express Card and a passport.

    Grand Theft--Grand Theft--June 7, 2:30 p.m., 400 N. Wolfe Rd. A suspect entered a cubicle and stole a $3,000 laptop from the victim's desk.

    Burglary--June 6, 9:00 a.m., 1000 Aster Ave. An unknown suspect smashed the right rear window of two vehicles parked in underground parking. In one car, the suspect attempted to steal a stereo, but couldn't. Instead, he took a soccer ball, soccer shoes, CDs, and an amplifier valued at $1,180. The second car was entered the same way. Again the suspect could not steal the car's stereo, but destroyed the dash in the attempt.

    Burglary--June 6, 7:06 a.m., 1200 Apollo Dr. Someone broke the glass front door of a printing business and proceeded to steal $40 from a cash drawer at the front counter.

    Burglary--June 5, 10:36 p.m., 1200 Arques Ave. An auto burglary occurred in the parking lot of a 24-Hour Fitness gym. An unknown suspect stole a leather jacket and a purse valued at $300.

    Burglary--June 5, 10:20 a.m., 1200 block Ayala Dr. An unknown suspect forced entry into an apartment, and drank beer and smoked cigarettes there. The suspect removed a $50 power sprayer and a $25 sander.

    Robbery--June 3, 10:49 p.m., 400 block N. Fair Oaks Ave. The victim lost his wallet, a 6-pack of beer and a watch in a strong-arm robbery. The value of the stolen assets was given at $50.

    Petty Theft--June 2, 2:00 p.m., 1100 N. Mathilda. A restaurant employee stole $170 in cash from several of her co-workers and the restaurant.
