    Article was informative

Your article on the Town Center construction progress by Sam Scott [Sun, June 14] was informative and appreciated. We wish the Town Center merchants and AMP the best of luck in hopes that the renovations will bring profits all around.

My friends and I are disappointed that the original plan to extend the successful and colorful Murphy Street into the mall area and adding new shops and restaurants failed to win approval. I am especially puzzled because I understand that the existing tenants at that time were the opposers of this plan. I don't understand why management would oppose more foot traffic being funneled into their stores. They apparently prefer a dead mall with no competition.
