    Chorale seeks pianist

    The Valley Chorale, a nonprofit organization, has openings for a singer/pianist to sing and share accompaniment for rehearsals and concerts. Rehearsals are scheduled on Mondays, at 7:30 p.m. at 1515 Partridge Ave., Sunnyvale. Repertoire for the 12 concert series, locally and on tour, include classics, spirituals, pops and costumed musical theater medleys that will feature both a cappella and accompanied music.     Library holds book sale

    The Friends of the Sunnyvale Public Library is holding their summer book sale on Saturday, June 30, at the Raynor Community Center, 1500 Partridge Ave., Sunnyvale. The sale is open to members at 9 a.m. and to the public at 10 a.m., and will continue until 4 p.m. Bargain Bag hours are from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Those who want to become members, or renew membership, may do so at the sale.     National Notary Association announces training session

    The National Notary Association has scheduled a training session for individuals interested in becoming a notary public, or for those needing to renew their notary commission. The seminar will be held Thursday, July 12, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Radisson Inn, 1085 E. El Camino Real, Sunnyvale.

    The daylong seminar, "Prepare for and Pass the CA Notary Exam," is designed to educate individuals about the duties and responsibilities of a notary public so that they can notarize correctly and legally.     California Theatre Center features 'Hay Fever'

    The California Theatre Center will continue its Summer Rep 2001 Season with their second show, Hay Fever. The remaining scheduled shows are on June 27 and 30 and July 12, 18 and 27, at 8 p.m. It will also play on Sunday, July 15, at 2 p.m. [with a talk-back session] and 7 p.m. The Sunnyvale Community Center Theatre is located just off El Camino Real at 550 E. Remington Drive, Sunnyvale.

    Hay Fever, by Noel Coward, is one of the wittiest English plays of the 20th century. It features the Bliss family and their attempt to entertain their guests for the weekend.

    Homestead student sings classical vocal music

    Homestead High School senior Mahesh Srinivasan will give his debut performance in South Indian classical vocal music on Saturday, June 30, at 7 p.m. in the Cubberley Theater, 4000 Middlefield Road, Palo Alto. For the past 12 years, Srinivasan has studied music under the guidance of Jayashree Varadarajan, the founder and director of Sri Rama Lalitha Kala Mandir School of Fine Arts in Sunnyvale. Srinivasan has also performed in several operatic productions at his school.
