    Public Safety

    The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Public Safety Department

    Commercial Burglary--June 13, 5 a.m., 600 block of Utica Drive. During a search warrant officers located four laptop computers stolen in a store burglary in Santa Clara. Numerous boxes of illegal fireworks and glass pipes with a white powder residue were also found.

    Check Stolen/Fraud--June 13, 6:15 p.m., 500 block of Mathilda Avenue. The victim business transacted a check that was later returned stamped "closed account." The check was determined stolen and forged.

    Possession of a Controlled Substance--June 13, 1:20 a.m., Sunnyvale/Saratoga and Harwick Way. Officer smelled marijuana coming out of suspects' vehicle. The suspects then admitted to being in possession of marijuana. Both driver and passenger were determined under the influence of a methamphetamine. The suspects were also found to be in possession of cocaine, ecstasy and a glass pipe with marijuana residue. Both were arrested and taken to the county jail.

    Auto Burglary--June 10, 10 p.m., 1600 block of Ontario Drive. Once inside the vehicle, suspects removed an in-dash car stereo, along with piece of dashboard surrounding the stereo. The suspect also took two compact discs and the victim's purse containing her wallet, cell phone and cash.

    Impersonation--June 8, 9 p.m., 200 block of Persian Drive. Suspect obtained victim's credit card while at a local bar. The suspect impersonated the victim and used the credit card to purchase alcohol in the amount of $10. The receipt of the transaction was found in the suspect's pant pocket, and the credit card was recovered.

    Drug Paraphernalia--June 5, 7:30 p.m., 800 block of Sunnyvale-Saratoga Avenue. Victim was walking to car in parking lot of local drug store when he stepped on a used hypodermic syringe. The unprotected needle with an undetermined amount of blood punched into the victim's foot. Victim responded by going in for tests at local emergency room. It appeared the needle had been used for illegal purposes.

    Grand Theft/Forgery--June 6, 1300 block of Lawrence Expressway. Suspect submitted time cards for hours not worked, by forging his supervisor's signature. The victim can document $4,354.33 in loss, since January for 36 hours regular pay and 79 hours overtime.
