Camps at De Anza

HoopEdge basketball camps will be held July 6-24 for boys and girls ages 8-17 at De Anza College in Cupertino. Three weekly sessions are scheduled, and the camps will be run by a collegiate staff of coaches. For more information, call 864-8729.

All-star football

The 24th annual Charlie Wedemeyer All-Star Football Game, featuring the best high school seniors from the Santa Clara County, will return to San Jose State University's Spartan Stadium on July 22.

The legendary Wedemeyer will be on hand to greet the players prior to the 7 p.m. kickoff. The football game is sponsored each summer by the Almaden Valley Rotary Club, and proceeds go to the Rotary charity and scholarship programs.

Baseball camp

San Jose State University will host its 14th annual Summer Baseball Camp on July 13-17 and 20-24 at the San Jose State practice field under the direction of Spartan head coach Sam Piraro and his staff.

The camp is open to boys and girls ages 6-15, and will include individual drills, group drills, daily scrimmages and individual camp evaluation. Areas to be covered include hitting, fielding, team aspects, individual positions, baserunnings and teamwork.

Camp hours are 10 a.m.-1 p.m. daily, and the cost is $90 per player.
