One Sunnyvale resident died and three others were injured in a June 24 traffic accident at Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road and Remington Drive.
The accident occurred at 8:20 p.m., when two vehicles collided at the intersection. One vehicle was carrying William and Ann Herndon, both 58, and Vincent Furland, 84. Susan Swift, 34, was the sole occupant of the other car.
All four were taken to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, where William Herndon, who had been driving the first vehicle, died from injuries sustained in the crash. The other three people have been released from the hospital.
Swift was subsequently arrested on suspicion of drunken driving. Capt. Steven Piggot said last Friday that Sunnyvale's Department of Public Safety is still investigating the cause of the accident.
