    Man shot during morning incident

    A 21-year-old man was shot in the stomach during a fight at Sunnyvale's Elks Lodge, located on the 300 block of N. Pastoria Dr., at 12:35 a.m. on Sunday. The lodge was being rented out for what was thought to be a graduation/birthday party.

    Sometime just after midnight, Sunnyvale Public Safety officers were called with reports of several fights among the 200 people. Twenty-one officers were sent to the scene. Police reported as they were breaking up the incident and people were filing away, a shot was heard one block away. When police got there, they found the victim lying near the curb on Hermosa Street surrounded by several people. He was immediately rushed to Stanford University Hospital where he as reportedly in stable condition. The suspected assailant reportedly got away in a car. Authorities say that the party was advertised with fliers and attracted many people from out of town. The incident is still under investigation. Police did not release the name of the shooting victim.
