    ZIP code problems

In your July 5 edition, you reported about the ZIP code change. You encourage residents to "notify their correspondence of our new mailing address in order to avoid disruptions in mail service"

If anyone in the new 94085 ZIP code notifies DirecTV of the change , they will find like me, their service will be disrupted because the computer systems are not programmed for the new ZIP code. I made the call on Thursday and have had service disruption ever since. And there is no promise of when I will get it reactivated.

Other businesses like Webvan also do not recognize the new ZIP code, so we have had to change the records back to the old ZIP code to continue service.

Sometimes it doesn't pay to be proactive.

The Postal Service needs to make a greater effort to contact businesses so the residents don't suffer from denial of services.
