Public Safety

The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Public Safety Department.

Burglary--July 16, 9:30 a.m. Two cars were burglarized in the 200 block of W. California Avenue, and more than $600 worth of property was stolen.

Petty Theft--July 14, 2:02 p.m. More than $70 worth of coins were stolen from drawers inside the Wells Fargo Bank in the 1200 block of Arques Avenue. Police do not have any suspects.

Possession--July 13, 9:35 p.m. A 27-year-old male was cited at the corner of Duane and San Juan Avenues after a police search of the suspect's automobile revealed tools for burglarizing cars, a car stereo with no serial numbers and less than an ounce of marijuana.

Conspiracy--July 10, 3:45 p.m. A 23-year-old male was arrested for conspiracy and passing fictitious checks at a store in the 300 block of S. Mathilda Avenue.

DUI--July 12, 9:15 p.m. A 28-year-old male was arrested at Hollenbeck Road and El Camino Real for riding his bike while under the influence of alcohol. Officers said the suspect was riding his bike on the wrong side of the street, rode through a red light and didn't have a proper head lamp.

Burglary--July 14, 8:48 p.m. Two unknown suspects fled a house on the 800 block of Piper Avenue after the homeowners interrupted a burglary. The suspects did steal two bicycles and a shotgun.

Possession--July 12, 1:20 a.m. A 24 year-old male was cited at the corner of Duane and San Rafael avenues for being in possession of brass knuckles.
