Sunnyvale oil recycling
Sunnyvale residents who want to recycle their used motor oil have a place in the city to drop it off.
SpeeDee Oil Change & Tune-up at 695 W. Homestead Rd. is one of seven Peninsula businesses participating in the state's Used Oil Recycling Program. The program is sponsored by the California Integrated Waste Management Board.
Under the four-year-old program, consumers who bring in used motor oil receive four cents a quart for their efforts. All oil collected at state-certified businesses is taken to a recycling facility. SpeeDee Oil Change accepts used oil during regular business hours. For more information, call 730-1118.
