    Public Safety

The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Public Safety Department.

Possession of Cocaine--July 17, 8:30 p.m., 100 block of Persian Drive. Sunnyvale officers contacted two male suspects, ages 25 and 26, at The Brass Rail, who consented to a search. The officers found two grams of cocaine on one suspect, and both were under the influence of a stimulant.

Petty Theft--July 16, 7:57 p.m., 300 block of S. Sunnyvale Avenue at JC Penney's. A 42-year-old male selected a pair of jeans, went into the restroom and emerged wearing the jeans. He then attempted to leave the store without paying for them.

Fraudulent Check--July 16, 2:15 p.m., 600 block of Fair Oaks Avenue at Fast Cash. When a 41-year-old male attempted to cash a check, a Fast Cash employee called the company named on the check and was told the account had been closed due to previous fraudulent activity. The suspect gave police officers conflicting statements as to how he gained possession of the check.

Dining Without Cash--July 19, 6:38 p.m., 800 block of E. El Camino Real at Michael's restaurant. A 30-year-old male entered the restaurant and ate a meal totaling $50.28 knowing he was unable to pay for his dinner. After eating, he informed the manager that he could not pay and suggested that the manager call the police. The suspect is also an unregistered sex offender.
