Sunnyvale Mayor Robin Parker pins a ribbon to a burnt post at the Community Congregational Church on Remington Drive. About 100 people from area churches attended the Aug. 25 service, staged to help people remember the 75 black and multicultural churches, synagogues and mosques that have been hit by arsonists in the South since 1995. Seventy-five nails were driven into the post to symbolize each of the places of worship lost.
