Silicon Valley Wave holds its Sept.1 blood/marrow drive
A blood drive will be held Sept. 1 at the Silicon Valley Wave in Sunnyvale from 12 to 5 p.m. Nearly all bone marrow transplant patients need whole blood transfusions to keep them alive throughout the course of their treatment, and donating whole blood is an excellent way to help transplant patients. To make an appointment at the Blood Center, call 888.723.7831.
Those interested in donating blood can also do so at the Blood Center's Mountain View site, at 515 South Drive (behind El Camino Hospital), or can check its website at bloodcenter.stanford.edu for the day and time of a convenient mobile drive.
Information on marrow donation may be obtained from the National Marrow Donor Program's website at www.marrow.org.
