    Local teams in field hockey jamboree

    The grasses of Willow Glen High will be filled with field hockey teams Sept. 8 and 9 when the 21st annual Field Hockey Jamboree returns. The 30-team jamboree begins that Friday with 30 matches to be played on five different fields. Play begins at 2:30 p.m. with the final games that day getting under way at 6:15 p.m.

    Teams return on Saturday for matches at 9 a.m., 9:45 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 11:15 a.m., noon, 12:45 p.m., 1:30 p.m., 2:15 p.m. and 3 p.m.

    Teams receive three points for a win, two points for a scored tie and one point for a scoreless tie. The team rolling up the most points in the end wins the championship.
