Flouridation measure causes controversy

Construction unearths native remains





    Public Safety

    The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Public Safety Department.

    Grand Theft---Aug. 22, 9:30 p.m., 1100 block Blazingwood Dr. Suspect took a 5.06 carat diamond ring set in 18 carat gold from a safe and fled. The ring is worth an estimated $57,500.

    Commercial Burglary--Aug. 22, 9:15 a.m., 600 block W. Maude Ave. Unknown suspect(s) forced entry into rear door of Themestream. Suspect(s) stole two computer CPUs, one monitor, and one projector valued at $950.

    Robbery--Aug. 18, 6:27 p.m., 500 block E. El Camino Real. Suspect entered Wherehouse Music and took numerous cassettes and CDs and fled on foot. Suspect then entered Hair Express and demanded money.

    Exhibition of Speed--Aug. 14, 9:20 p.m., intersection of Fair Oaks Ave. and El Camino Real. Officer observed a red Geo Prism squealing its tires from a parking lot driveway to the number three lane.

    Check Fraud--Aug. 10, 4:10 p.m., 900 block Kifer Rd. A check of $900 was fraudulently transacted on a member's account at National Semiconductor Credit Union.

    Grand Theft--Aug. 9, 3:13 p.m., 600 block W. California Ave. Subject ordered 20 computers valued at $59,524.60. The computers were delivered to an address in Las Vegas and never paid for.

    Possession of Controlled Substance--July 19, 1:46 p.m., 900 block E. Arques Ave. Suspect was arrested for being in possession of a usable quantity of methamphetamine, MDMA and psilocybin.
