Dining out helps out
The fifth annual "Dining Out--Helping Out" to help raise money for Second Harvest Food Bank takes place Sept. 17.
Eighty restaurants in Santa Clara and San Mateo counties will donate 10 percent of the day's sales to Second Harvest to help feed hungry children, families and seniors on the Peninsula and in the South Bay.
Restaurants in Alameda, Contra Costa and Santa Cruz Counties are also participating in the program.

Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties collects and distributes 15.5 million pounds of food each year.
Chamber Þshes for night at the Sharks
The Sunnyvale Chamber of Commerce is looking into the possibility of having a Sunnyvale Chamber of Commerce night at a San Jose Sharks game.
The cost of the tickets and the date of the game will depend upon the seats that are available.
Those interested in participating in this event can pick up and fill out an interest form at the Chamber of Commerce. Forms must be returned to the Chamber.
Firms honor Vasconcellos
Assemblyman John Vasconcellos was honored by the American Electronics Association as 1996 Legislator of the Year on Aug. 21.
The AEA represents more than 1,500 high-technology companies in California, many of them based in Vasconcellos' Santa Clara Assembly district.
