    Sunnyvale Senior Center will holds driver training classes

    The Sunnyvale Senior Center is holding 55 Alive Senior Driver Training classes in September. The first classes are on Sept. 11 and 18 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. A $10 fee must be paid to the Senior Center prior to class. Call 408.730.7360 for more information.

    National Notary Association schedules notary seminars

    The National Notary Association is giving two training sessions for those interested in becoming a Notary Public, or renewing a Notary commission.

    The daylong seminars, called "Prepare for and Pass the CA Notary Exam," educate participants about notarizing legally. The sessions are scheduled for Sept. 20 and Oct. 11.

    They will be held at the Radisson Inn, located at 1085 E. El Camino Real, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The cost is $139 per session. To register call 800.876.6827.

    West Valley Federated Women's Club organizes 'Wheels for Air-Ric' benefit

    The West Valley Federated Women's Club is accepting donations on behalf of Eric Niva, a 25-year-old who was seriously injured in an auto accident. Neva was working toward a degree in engineering at West Valley College when the accident occurred. He is a quadriplegic from neck and spinal cord injuries he suffered in the crash and is being rehabilitated at San Jose Valley Medical Center.

    The Wheels for Air-Ric benefit will raise money to buy a specially equipped van to transport Niva once he is released from the hospital in September. Participants can make a $100 donation and get a chance to win $20,000. Another $20,000 will be used to purchase a van for Niva. Winners of the benefit drawing will be announced at a barbecue on Sept. 16 at 2 p.m. To participate, call 408.223.4234.

    Sunnyvale Presbyterian Church holds Ministry Fair

    The Sunnyvale Presbyterian Church presents a Ministry Fair on Sept. 9 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 4 to 5:45 p.m. The fair is planned to encourage people to serve others, and will be held in the Phoenix Center at the rear of the campus.
