    Public Safety

    The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Public Safety Department

    Grand Theft-July 15 through July 19, reported Aug. 21, 1000 block of Mango Avenue. Theft occurred when the suspect used the victim's Visa credit card to make purchases totaling $755.71.

    Controlled Substance-Aug. 21, 12:30 a.m., intersection of Warner and Fremont avenues. The officer initiated a vehicle stop and contacted the driver where the suspect submitted to a number of tests. An arrest of the suspect revealed a controlled substance and marijuana in his short's pocket.

    Auto Burglary-Aug. 21, 5 p.m., 400 block of Wolfe Road. The victim parked and secured his vehicle. When he returned to the vehicle, he found it had been broken into. A portable CD player, car stereo and title of vehicle were missing.

    Burglary-Aug. 21, 6:30 p.m., 700 block of Evelyn Avenue. Suspect was seen inside the warehouse portion of a local business climbing out a window. He then tried to flee the scene by car but was followed and arrested.

    Theft of City Property-Aug. 23, 12:30 a.m., intersection of Hanover and Elmira avenues. Suspects removed sets of street signs from separate intersections in the city. Officers who found the stolen signs found the suspects and cited and released them on the scene.
