    Helen Meyer passes away

Helen Frances Meyer, 89, of Sunnyvale and Lodi, died on July 18. Services were held on July 26.

Meyer was born in 1909 in Ohio, graduated from high school in 1928, and then studied social services at Tiffin Business University. She later became the first woman to be an accredited secretary for the YMCA.

Meyer and her husband, Werner, moved to Sunnyvale in 1947, where She became

active in the First United Methodist Church. She is survived by a daughter, a son, three grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one sister.

    Correction

In the Aug. 11 story "'Fishbowl' teen center to relaunch," The Sun incorrectly stated that the program serves local junior high and high school teenagers. The program serves only high school students, and a high school identification card is needed to participate in the coffeehouse. The Sun regrets the error.
