YMCA sports

The Northwest YMCA will host basketball, indoor soccer and roller hockey programs for kids this fall.

The YMCA features a fall basketball season that runs Sept. 19-Nov. 14 and is open to boys and girls in kindergarten through the eighth grade. The cost is $72 per player. Registration is currently under way for kids in grades K-8 for the youth roller hockey season that runs Oct. 17-Nov. 21. The registration fee is $67 per player.

Coaches are needed for both the basketball and roller hockey leagues. The YMCA offers an extensive training program, so no experience is necessary. The YMCA also hosts basketball and roller hockey programs for boys and girls ages 3-5 who want to learn the basics of either game. Each program is taught on Saturdays for one hour.

The fall indoor soccer league season is open to boys and girls ages 3-7. The season runs Nov. 7-Dec. 19, and the registration deadline is Oct. 30. YMCA leagues stress basic skills, and no scores or standings are kept. A $25 fee required. Call Matt Klock at 257-7160.
