Public Safety

The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Public Safety Department.

Petty Theft--Sept. 4, 2:19 p.m. A 42-year-old woman was arrested outside Home Depot on the 600 block of Kifer Road after she stuffed three saw blades and a roll of tape into the front pockets of her shorts and attempted to leave the store without paying.

Burglary--Sept. 2, 4:55 p.m. Thieves stole $2,390 worth of personal property from a car parked in front of the Motel 6 on the 700 block of N. Mathilda Avenue. The owner of the vehicle recently moved to Sunnyvale from Texas to live with her boyfriend.

Hit and Run--Sept. 8, 1:55 p.m. A 44-year-old female was arrested at Central Expressway near Mary Avenue for driving at an unsafe speed, hit and run and driving with an expired license.

Possession--Sept. 9, 3 p.m. The Sunnyvale Narcotics Unit conducted a probation search at a home on the 600 block of W. Washington Avenue and found an undisclosed amount of methamphetamines, drug paraphernalia and guns. Four males were arrested at the residence.

Domestic Violence--Sept. 9, 11:30 p.m. A 29-year-old female was arrested on the 600 block of E.Weddell Drive for domestic violence.

Petty Theft--Sept. 9, 6:45 p.m. A 42-year-old woman was arrested for attempting to steal a thermometer and a bag of coffee from the Pak 'n Save on the 700 block of Sunnyvale-Saratoga Road.

Cruelty to a Child--Sept. 6, 6:30 p.m. A 29-year-old male was arrested on the 500 block of S. Fair Oaks Avenue for cruelty to a child.

Child Abuse--Sept. 7, 12:40 a.m. A 36-year-old woman was arrested for child abuse on the 200 block of W. California Avenue.
