Conrad is Fremont's watermelon winner

It was all fun and watermelons when the Fremont cross-ountry team hit the campus course for race action last week.

But things will get a little more serious this week when teams from all over the area converge on the Fremont course for the annual Firebird Invitational.

Fremont will host the 15-team invitational on Sept. 18, 3:30 p.m., that features many of the top teams from the Santa Clara Valley Athletic League and other area squads.

Among the schools competing in the meet will be Fremont, Lynbrook, Saratoga, Los Altos, Mountain View, Santa Clara, Wilcox, Homestead and Monta Vista.
