    Public works doesn't

We find it fascinating when politicians and public employees think if they don't address the issues, or deny their existence, the issues will go away! It appears Director of Public Works Marvin Rose and his assistant Mike Chan aren't doing what they're paid to do.

If Rose and Chan were doing their jobs, the citizens of Sunnyvale would have correctly paved and maintained sidewalks and streets, streetlights and traffic lights that work properly, proper landscaping of public streets and public buildings, properly placed street signs and properly maintained city-owned buildings.

What are Rose and Chang doing instead of doing their jobs? Why are they still on the payroll? Why hasn't someone at city hall noticed what the citizens of Sunnyvale have known for some time ... that our public works ... doesn't?

When a new multi-unit apartment complex or condo complex is built, new streets and sidewalks are put in at taxpayers' expense. When Lockheed needs a sidewalk or roadway fixed, they get it. Meanwhile, the older established neighborhood's roads, sidewalks, lights, etc. are neglected. The city council has failed the people who have voted them in. We, the citizens of Sunnyvale, elected them to keep our city in good working order, not to play favorites or to lobby for personal gain! Wait until the next election.
